The Dover Pageant acknowledges the contribution Noreen has made to the Dover Pageant with the narration and scripts she created and wrote.
Noreen, who was 83 lived in Temple Ewell and was born in Tenterden, She moved to Dover in 1952.
Her two sons, Dylan and Will, were born in Dover and went to Dover College and the Dover Boys' Grammar School respectively.
Education was pivotal in her life. Noreen studied at the leading teachers' training colllege, Avery Hill, and taught at St Radigund's Primary School (now White Cliffs Primary College) and Castlemount Secondary School - where she became head of special needs and head of pastoral care - as well as Barton Court Grammar School in Canterbury, teaching history and English .
She combined her love of these two subjects into the creation of scripts for the Dover Pageant for more than 15 years.
She said she loved doing the research for the scripts and she also helped to design the costumes for the event.
Also very active in her village community of Temple Ewell, belonging to the Women's Institute, setting questions for village quizzes and helping at a wide range of events.
She was particularly well known for her work with Temple Ewell Players, directing and producing some of their productions, and helping front-of-house with others.
Master of the Dover Pageant, Mike McFarnell said Noreen had helped transform the pageant into what it had become in recent years.
"Her research and scripts brought a new concept to the event,"
"She had the knowledge and ability to bring the history of Dover to life."
The funeral was held at Temple Ewell Parish Church on Tuesday 8th July 2008.
